Russia Urges Halt to Iran War, Warns of Growing ‘Humanitarian Disaster’
Russia has called on the United States and Israel to halt military attacks on Iran, warning that the escalating conflict risks triggering a major humanitarian crisis across the region.
According to officials in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin has urged both U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stop the bombardment of Iranian targets and return to diplomatic negotiations.
Kremlin Raises Humanitarian Concerns
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said the situation in the Middle East is rapidly deteriorating as airstrikes continue across Iranian territory.
Zakharova warned that ongoing attacks risk creating a “humanitarian disaster”, stressing that the civilian population could face severe consequences if the conflict continues to escalate.
She urged Washington and Tel Aviv to immediately halt military operations and resume diplomatic talks aimed at stabilizing the region.
Calls for Negotiations
Russia has repeatedly positioned itself as an advocate for negotiations to resolve the crisis involving Iran. Kremlin officials say military escalation will only deepen instability and increase the risk of a wider regional war.
The Russian government has emphasized that dialogue and diplomatic engagement remain the only viable path toward de-escalation.
Rising Regional Tensions
The conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel has already heightened fears of broader instability in the Middle East. Military exchanges and retaliatory strikes have raised concerns among global leaders about the potential for the crisis to spread beyond the region.
Analysts say the situation remains highly volatile, with major powers closely watching developments and urging restraint from all sides.
As international pressure grows, calls for a ceasefire and renewed negotiations are likely to intensify in the coming days.
